Senate Experience

I was first elected to serve in the Alabama State Senate in 1998.
I have held three consecutive terms serving the citizens of Calhoun and St.
Clair counties in this position. During this time, I have been a
part of many committees and have written and supported various pieces of
legislature that have had a positive effect on our area and those within
our community.
In January of 2007, the Alabama Legislature successfully voted themselves a 62% pay raise.
Only 5 out of 140 legislators voted against. I was one of those 5.
I also sign a form every year refusing this pay increase because this is wasteful government spending.
